One of the biggest problems we see with newer washers is coins stuck in the drain pump, These washers have electric drain pumps which simply cannot force coins through like the older belt drive washers could.
All it takes is one coin to cause pump failure and/or create a leak. So give a heads up to everyone in your household to make sure they check their pockets for spare change.

Washer manufactures and insurance companies recommend changing your washer's fill hoses every 5 years to prevent these from leaking. As the hoses get older they have a tendencey to rust and/or the hose and fittings can fail and leak. This is a pretty simple repair that only takes a few minutes with the right tools, but if you don't want to mess with it give us a call and we can change them for $49.95, including travel time, parts, and labor.

Some customers ask us if we think they should consider purchasing used appliances? While there are times when replacing an appliance is the best decision, some thought should be given as to when this is the case.
Has your appliance ever been repaired before? How old is your appliance? Do you like it? Remember that used appliances also have a history. In many cases you are better off repairing your appliance then buying a used one. In most cases you have cared better for your appliance then the original owner cared for the used one. |

One of the main causes of dryer and refrigerator malfunctions, is heat related causes.
The compressor in a refrigerator works best with good airflow, when the condenser coils become clogged with dust and dirt, this causes the compressor to work at a much higher temperature. When this happens for long enough it will cause wear and possible failure of parts.
Dryers also need good airflow to function. When there is lint buildup in the vent, this causes excess heat to be trapped inside the dryer, and leads to part failure over time. |
